Manhattan Experimental Theater Workshop

a program of the Manhattan Arts Center in Manhattan, Kansas

Brutal

Target Story for 2012 will be The Judgement of Paris. This is one of the most painted subjects in Western history, so expect an art history post from me at some point. In the meantime enjoy this painting, “The Judgement of Paris” by Will Tuck.

The director and assistant directors JUST finished their meeting on what groups people will be in, and the opening and closing pieces. We were deliberating from 7pm until 12am, that’s 6 hours…agonizing over what groups to put people in that would result in happy participants and successful groups. Everyone should be really happy with our solutions, which will be reviled at the next session. Poor Gweth has to drive back to Lawrence, and work tomorrow morning! That is not an easy drive at this time of night, and I wish her good luck and as good of a night’s sleep as is possible. Assistant directors will be doubling up on directing duty as they did last year, except Gweth will be floating around and overseeing all the pieces, instead of directing three groups like last year. So we will all see lots of Gweth regardless, yay!

I am so tired, but I have to finish the shirt design which is due tomorrow morning…

All will be revealed at the session tomorrow, but not before then. That way it’s fair and everyone gets to find out at the same time. I wish we could tell all you guys right now, but that’s how it is :-/
