This summer I was contacted to film a documentary about a very unique theater company for high school students in Manhattan, Kansas. As I met with the founder and directors of the show I was intrigued by their sense of calm and optimism that this show (that was yet to be written and produced by students in just 5 weeks) was going to be one of the best they had ever done. The more I got to know about the company the more I was enthralled by their sense of purpose, their ability to get students to commit to long hours of practice, and most importantly the quality of the work that they were able to produce in such a short period of time.

This video is a promotional piece that capture the essence of that story in 3 minutes. The full length documentary (27 minutes) will be available later this month.

Filmed on a Panasonic GH3 & Canon 550d
Many thanks to Matthew Bloomberg and Julia Comstock for their help in capturing interviews.
